Okay, so I bought my Z4 about 4 years ago and since then I've been doing a ton of research on the N54 platform to know which direction I want to go in and how to do everything myself. I've owned a Lexus SC300 with a 2jz swap and 3 240s with SR20s. I know my way around cars, but German engineering is definitely different. Since then, I've installed catless DPs, 7.5" FMIC, index 12 injectors, Eldor coils (recently switched to B58 coils), downpipe w/ BOV, 2" inlets, upgraded PCV valve, catch can, aluminum valve cover, dropped from 19 inch wheels to 18s with more width and performance tires for much better traction (since it comes stock with stupid run-flats), Magnum cold air intake, 2 step colder NGK plugs and an oil cooler.

Point is, everything should be set up for stage 2+ MHD tune. Everything is running smoothly with good logs, but the burble is tilting me. I enjoyed my burbles while it was stock tuned, then I flashed it with medium burbles. No burbles at all. ZERO. I drove around for about 50 miles to see if it would set in and nothing. Tried to figure out wtf is going on and I simply can't. I then flashed it to the highest burble settings possible and I FINALLY got burbles, but ONLY when I downshift into 1st with RPMs reaching 6k.. I don't like downshifting into 1st. I get no burbles downshifting into 2nd. None.

Does anyone have any idea wtf to do or what's going on? Very frustrating. I checked to see if the exhaust flap is open and it is, but it still doesn't do shit. Maybe if the exhaust flap is closed? I don't see that helping at all though.

Thanks for the time reading this and any help/info would be much appreciated!

@Jake@MHD get this man his burbles back, if that doesn't work get a custom tune, then you can fine tune burbles
I know a few couple people out @ PSI in FL, but not a tuner personally or I would. I'd rather not do a custom tune just for more burbs haha. Once I go single eventually then yeah, but for now I just hope I can figure this shit out. If not, then it is what it is I guess. Thanks for trying to get me some help from Jake, though! Appreciate you, buddy.

I have the same issue with my Z4 N54. I have a custom tune. Tuner said that flash with burble options, tried several settings and nothing changed.

I feel like it may be the stock cat back exhaust system and tuning. I'm switch to a full titanium exhaust, so we'll see if that changes anything. I'll keep you posted.

My stock exhaust is modified. Loud enough. Exhaust system should not be the issue, you should still notice the difference after tune. It is like comfort=>sport setting, you can notice the difference.
