I think dumping 5k into a pos and thinking it's a show car is crazy but putting 5k into a 5k car sounds like a monster for 10k. People are spoiled I grew up on people saving up for mods on fox bodies way over what they bought them for. Also people spent couple hundred min on a 96 explorer intake manifold if they couldnt get gt40s or something for couple hp but shit we are spoiled. You want to double your power it shouldnt be an issue to double the cost. But and a very big but if turbos are blown it's nice to have an option that wont pop and can make some extra power which I dont knock anyone for. Noone is going to agree with everything ,some people want to build their car so these are not for them and some just want have some fun for cheap. No ones wrong they just need realistic expectations.

I was curious so I called Squretrade and no they wont cover this under the Auto Protection plan, although not surprised.
Well damn, that stinks. Would've been nice if they did. Was it because it was not sold direct by Amazon?

0.004mm difference nets to 0.000157 inch. I seriously doubt they are measuring sub-thou, much less controlling production there.

That's not what they're saying at all.

Original 43.4 x 56 and new size 43.4 x 60.

4mm difference.

A further update, highest miler now over 10k miles on Chinese. Still no failures of any of the cars running China turbos.
Looks like the major players are noticing the pinch and reducing their prices accordingly.

EDIT: Thanks your finding and reading my post. Unfortunately, Spoolstreet is no longer a neutral platform where we can have honest discussions on subjects and products freely.
For this reason I have deleted all information I posted on the forums.

I think they're a great budget option if you're willing to take apart the internals and have them re-balanced and reassembled with a quality rebuild kit. Once that's all said and done you're into them for about $1500. At that price point I can think of a few vendors that have already gone through this process + provide a better warranty. That's why I went with another vendor. But that's just my logic. It's a lot of work to have them installed. I don't want to be doing that for a while.

Bottom line is anyone paying for install should not take the chance. Someone capable of DIY install go for it why not. As long as expectations are realistic. Your not setting records or making a track build but a slight upgrade on budget for tired stockers this fits the bill.

Most of us paid for install, hardly anyone in this platform tracks their car apart from quarter mile. But I'd say surviving 10k miles of thrashing the car, and they're still going won't mean they'll die in less than a hundred miles on track.

Listen to the nay sayers if you want or you can ask anyone who has actually had them fitted..

16t "slight" upgrade over stock. Yeah whatever mate.

Just go to YouTube and search for Chinese turbos videos and you'll find out why they need to be rebuild with quality parts and rebalanced. Many of them fail in short order. Although I believe the quality of materials from China has gone up in the last few years the fine details are still overlooked.

Whatever I'm not going through 10 hours of install work without some reassurance they're going to last past 6 months.

Tell that to all the Choo Choo Boi LS setups running 8s and 9s.

I'm not saying they aren't capable of big power I could be wrong I just think if your looking to push them then spend little extra or get them rebalanced. Stock turbos can make alot of power so if your looking for a little more headroom these could be way too go. Did most install as is or did you guys have them balanced?

Installed these myself, 618hp 545 torque and 5148 miles later with a smile on my face. Hopefully they last, but that is the gamble with ANY aftermarket part. Especially turbo options for these cars.

Also platform yes but forum no the e9x forums has never been the average user we are or at least were a group of enthusiasts that used to consist of more part time track drivers than not. I know I have to get used to the fact that the platform has changed.
