As for n55 self tuning, have you found Sbrach's self tuning thread on here, or Ajuna's over on the other forum yet? Also Sava666 just started an n55 tuning thread here, but it's not getting much traction yet (no pun intended, lol🤣)

I will search for their threads. Thank you for the heads up. My biggest concern is being able to trust the public XDF and to figure out what it is in the tune i actually need to change. I’m good at the concept of tuning engines but not totally comfortable with using a public xdf on tunerpro.

Here’s first vs second gear launch running quarter mile yesterday:

Here’s three more logs launching in first. One of them would have been my best run since i got a 1.66 60’, but i didn’t catch the 1-2 shift before hitting the rev limiter. The other two logs on this link show the car cutting back due to wheel spin. I see the throttle closing when it cuts back, so not sure what i can do to stop this. I would be much faster if i could just let the car spin out of the hole instead of bogging down. Maybe the cutting back is saving me from hopping and breaking axles….. who knows

Wow, your stft is pegged at -30 for the first half of that first run😲 But then it's more normal on the next run, any ideas what might have changed with fueling between runs? Were these all on the same Dorch settings?

Also your IAT's hold pretty well, what intercooler are you running?

Here's some good tuning links:

Sbrach's thread:

Anjuna's thread:

whatsADSM's thread:

These are all PWG rom's, but much should be extremely similar to the EWG implementation.

The logs i just posted were from the same day and fueling conditions. The two good runs differed with launching the car in either M1 or M2. Im guessing path the car takes through the map gets it doing weird stuff with the fueling, unless of course I’m having an issue with a sensor. M2 seems like the best way to go, provided i can launch harder than -10lbs without messing up the transmission or anything else. The M1 launches are very easy since the stock turbo spools really fast. If i launch too hard in M1 and spin the wrong way, the throttle closes for a short moment as you can see in the second link. I sent these logs to my tuner, so hopefully we can get it fixed up. If not, it looks like I’m going to learn to use tunerpro with the MHD XDF and BIN lol

Come to find out i flashed my time with nostrum stage 2 setting for the hpfp option on mhd. I just realized this when i decided to run my own tune to get more boost up to E85.

Had a chance to make some hits at the track tonight. Did not realize i could get a 1.59 60’ out of this boat of a car.

Nice 60 ft! So was that with your previous tune, except with the correct hpfp option selected, or did you try a self tune yet?

This is with a self tune, still using the nostrum stage 2 hpfp setting. I had not heard back from my tuner for a good bit so decided to try out for myself. The first timeslip on 70% ethanol and next two on 80%. I got low on fuel and filled up with E85 from the guy at the track that sells race gas. The only issue I’m having with my tune i know of is boost going too high at the low rpms with sudden increase in throttle. Basically, the car does perfect on a datalog starting at 4000 rpm or if i launch at the drag strip in first gear. If i start my datalog at 3500 or below, the boost spikes. The lower the starting point, the more of a spike. This did the same thing on one of the second gear launches at the track last night too. I think the good run had a higher rpm launch.

Next step would be to decide whether i should run more timing. I’m basically running the same timing as my tuner’s tune at 50% ethanol at anything 50% or more. The car has been going -114mph for a long time, so I’m probably at the same power level as my tuner’s tune. He thought i would be short on fuel and taoered the boost starting at 60% ethanol.

Nice job turning around an 11 second self tune in a week from scratch👍 How many revisions did you get in before hitting the track?

This wasn’t hard due to having 2000+ logs of the car at almost every ethanol level. It would be nice to just have the original tune and XDF that Wedge used, but Ken does not want to share these with the public. I need to learn how to use the MHD XDF and options to get the boost as well controlled as the Wedge tune.

Update, 11.80 was my best time on stock turbo. I found that Shuenk had the n55+ in stock ready to ship and put that on my car last week Sunday. I managed to go 11.28@120 running a Wedge tune that appears to target 22lbs to redline. Not sure what will be my limiting factor…. Transmission, engine, who knows lol

What intercooler and intake are you running?
Vrsf big intercooler and stock intake. I tried the burger intake s while back and gained mph when switching back to stock. One thing about this n55+ is it uses a much bigger inlet. I was using FTP inlet on my stock turbo setup. Here’s a pic of stock vs FTP vs n55+

Not sure why one of the pics shows up in wrong place. Hopefully they are visible on your end.

Yeah, I can see them - thanks! Yeah, I like that larger sheunk inlet - I actually ordered one from midnight Motorsports for my build👍 I'll have to modify it to fit my turbo, but it gives a solid 3" connection to the oem air duct which is what I was looking for.

So big vrsf, I assume that's the 7" race model?
