Someone must have bought and installed one of these by now...

Why would anyone know what they are doing be buying this though? An undivided T3 is a pretty match for a 3L inline 6 that can rev to 7k rpm...

Ate a word. Lol. Sorry. Suppose to be “pretty bad”

Undivided T3 is quite restrictive for our engines and limits the choice for the turbos.

How much is T3 restrictive depends on yours power goal. T3 a/r 0.82 is enough for 800whp. And you can buy a/r 0.62, 0.82 or 1.06.
Btw Tial v band flange is very similar to t3 flange (2"circle -tial vs 2.375"x 1.950" - t3). Motiv did 978whp with Tial... If I can choose t4 TS bottom mount or Tial TS is my choice, but I cant find it anywhere. Tial stainlless steel turbines are great...

They keep saying it's a bad idea, but I want a log manifold bottom mount. I don't need any where near 800 whp. 500 to 600 max, but I want fast spool. Oh, and I hate rattling waste gates, so thats why no twins

I am very tempted to buy the spa t3 cast turbo mainfold and have it installed on my 08 335xi e92. Having AWD I'm sure I am probably limited to max horsepower and torque gain from going ST. I've always wanted to go single turbo...

Do it. Make a kit around it. Sell a few of them. Free ST kit for you.

I installed this manifold a couple weeks ago and am currently in the process of making a charge pipe, then I’ll take it to my exhaust guy and have a downpipe made. After that I’ll get a tune and dyno to really see how well this manifold spools.

So far I’ve only started it up to check for leaks

I went with a 0.85 A/R Turbonetics 6162 with the forged billet compressor wheel rated for 600 hp. Had to go relatively small on the turbine side due to this manifold hanging the turbo pretty low. Notching/clearancing the motor mount bracket will probably be necessary to run a GT35 or larger

Your compressor discharge looks dangerously close to the frame rail. Remember the motor moves in that direction quite a bit.

The compressor side wasn’t locked down yet in that pic. Once I lowered the motor back onto the passenger side mount, there wasn’t enough room for any charge piping lol. I ended up rotating the housing 180°

Awesome to see this. Is your car a 335 or something else? If 335, 90 or 92? Are you going with a silicone outlet for testing or straight to getting an aluminum one fabricated?

As much as I would love to just say fuck it and order this manifold for my own personal setup, the idea of waiting for fab'd parts is such a turnoff I don't care how badass it'd be. A local shop I use is doing a completely custom bottom mount setup for their upcoming track car and I'm half tempted to ask if they'll order two of everything to be made but I think chances are we'll have a mass-produced bottom kit by then.

Thanks, I’ll be going with a silicone outlet for now, car is a 2007 E90. A few more parts will be coming in tomorrow so hopefully I’ll be able to get it on the road

So, clocked turbine 180° is ok? I had this idea on fcb at your post, but I was only idea. Can you make a photo how high is compressor outlet? Is it higher than oil pan?

My 135° and 90° couplers came in today so I finished up the charge piping. I also modified the 2.5” diameter portion of the stock charge pipe so it would mate up with the intercooler.

@Vitan I believe the compressor outlet is above the oil pan, at the most it might be exactly even with it. It just clears the steering rack
