I'm still here!

My e%-gauge shows a solid 100% and gives me max boost now.
Checked all connections but still a solid 100% with only pump 93 in the tank.

Wish it showed the dme 0% when something is wrong instead..

Hi, are you using an OTS flash or are you getting a pro-tune? What does ethanol voltage log as?

Havent had an reply in mail in 1 week.

Will include voltage in a log when i get off work tomorrow. Planned to track the car next weekend so getting a bit nervous.

Voltage shows a stable 4.06v when idling.
When disconnecting ground for the ECA it jumps between 4 and 5 volts.
Still shows 100% e% in both cases.
Same thing if i disconnect the continental sensor.

The ECA will output 0.5-3V for 0-100% Ethanol. Any voltage greater than 3V is an error, either wiring issue, wire disconnected, short circuit, bad ground, or perhaps bad ECA or continental sensor. You will need to work with Chris / Motiv to resolve. You can add me in the email thread if you like and I'll help if necessary.

Hi,

I'm currently tuning my DME with my tuner, and he has done a good work from pump gas to E60. Now I want to go full E85. Friday, My tank was almost empty with about 5 litres of mixture in it, 64% of ethanol according to ECA, I filled up 3/4 of the tank with E85 and the ethanol rate increased to 68%. Next day, I did the same operation, 3/4 of the tank with E85, and the rate is still 68%. So, Is E85 rather E70 in my country ? Or Is the ECA badly calibrated ?

Probably low E% on your pump.
You know you can easily measure e% in your fuel? Just google or youtube it.

Looks like the pump you are getting it from is only ~E70. Not like it really matters, E70 is more than enough to max the power potential of stock turbos (and most all other turbos). The main benefit of people wanting to run "E85" is that they don't have to blend at the pump w/ 91-93oct. You are fine, and have less strain on your fuel system :)

Yeah just sucks to wait days between email answers while having a car i cannot use in the middle of the summer...

But if i understand you correctly, it should be a easy fix for Chris to set 0% ethanol in the map when voltage is out of range (under/over 0,5-3v) in stead of 100% ethanol?

So i at least can use the car with pump gasoline until we can find the issue.

I would actually wonder about what a safe setting would be if the sensor is out of spec.

0% It would get too little fuel if there is ethanol in the tank, but boost/ign will also be at a minimum.
At least you can use the car as normal on pump fuel with this setting.

100% ethanol would give way too much fuel, boost, ign all the time.
