N54 Stock DME Flex Fuel

In case anyone missed it:
Do you think there will be a OTS map to run with the Flex Fuel kit or will we need to be custom tuned to use it. This definitly plays into pricing for me. $150 - motiv flex fuel , $ 120 Sensor, $ ?? for the module in MHD, and if I need to get custom tuned then its gonna add another couple hundred.
I have no idea. Probably just a base map to get your car running but considering how much you can customize to a persons fuel, I don't think you'd really even want an OTS map, but I am not a tuner.
I think Martial would be leaving a lot of money on the table if they don't offer some sort of OTS flex fuel. I would think they would offer the flex fuel add-on, similar to the MBoost or whatnot, to enable it, then have a map pack for it. Just speculation though. That's how I would do it at least. Why give up the money on all the people that are unwilling to get a proper tune? I've never understood how some people are willing to drop thousands on hard parts but neglect what is arguably the SINGLE most important part of a setup.
Completely agree with you. I, however, do want to run OTS maps. As a daily with only a chargepipe and FMIC I believe a custom tune would be of much less utility to me vs someone with FBO+turbos etc. The language has been very vague about what tune options will work with this. I was hoping that the MHD 93 and E OTS maps would work and the MHD add on would simply allow interpolation between those existing maps. At least thats how I interpreted some of the earlier language, more recently it seems only talk of custom tunes. Would love some clarification about the MHD add on, until that comes I'll hold off on purchasing. If the clarification comes, I'll jump on it Sunday.
This is what I was thinking. I just assumed it would just adjust between the OTS maps as well.

MOTIV said they were waiting on MHD to finish the maps before they released. I would assume they are gonna drop at the same time. One is no good without the other.
Well perhaps for twin turbo people a flex fuel map can be made, I have a hard time understanding how one can be made for my particular single turbo setup with boostbox, ADV Sensors, double shotgun, etc. If you can do that, this is great!
The MHD OTS maps for flex fuel will be for the same level of vehicle modification as the current OTS maps.
I can agree with that. I was simply stating that the guy currently using OTS maps (stock twins and bolt ons) should be able to continue using OTS maps. If you are already on a custom tune then it should be obvious that you will be another custom tune. I wish I had you problem.... too many upgrades to use an OTS map... lol
