Yes, def needs more plenum, that's exactly what the tiny N54 ports need, more volume to back up behind them before it reaches the cylinder... I hope roger leaves the map sensor on top so its easy to get to. The Doc Race manifold is on the bottom pain in the ass to get to. I choose function over fashion every time. So you ever going to actually show up at a race, and race Omar? You are 0-2 now

mine is the other style, forward facing style. unboxed it today finally and it's very nice. for the 6 tenths of fuck all it costs it aint bad at all.
Does the same company make the forward facing one?

Where's you get it from? Would love to get one

Yes they make the forward facing manifold with a larger plenum and longer runners. We have yet to test that one specifically, but the changes we make along the process are global to their other offerings too.

UPDATE: I got the new manifold today and will install this week assuming the frikken snow stops here in CO. Gah...

Today was 38degrees c. thirty. fucking. eight.

But I got half motivated and pulled the stock intake off and dummied up the one I got from old mate who makes these.

The quality I must say I am impressed with. It's very light, very nice looking. long ass runners. decent plenum volume.

Now; onto the issues.

335d expansion tank no longer fits, and the 335d power steering res no longer will work. The BMS catch can can no longer sit in it's position.

Catch can is easy solved, Either I'll move it closer to the strut tower or run it under the plenum, there is literally tonnes of room under there now.

Expansion tank I still have my old 135 and 335 ones sitting around (pretty sure they're the same) they look smaller so I will see if I can make some mounts up for them somewhere.

Power steering res is easy, Will move it back and inline with the strut tower down low, will make a mount up for it down there and no dramas.

throttle body:

It fits, but as the bolt pattern is a square, it can fit on 4 ways. It only fits on 1 way. Upside down.

The correct way it fouls the top radiator hose. With the electrics downward it hits the alternator, and with the electrics upwards it hits the bonnet. So, the only way it fits is with the electrics pointing to the right (facing the motor) This isn't a massive drama. It's just bloody ugly this way.

Fuel rail:

Now i admit, I run full length injectors with my current PI kit, I dummy fitted the full length into this manifold and found a plethora of issues. First of all, the rail sits hard up against the cowl panel on the back, Not a massive drama except the engine moving might damage the plastics back there a little, but who cares right?

The fuel rail has a in and outlet on either end, with bungs for both ends (and a orb to -6 for one of the ends if you want) and it has a inlet in the bottom between injector 5&6, this comes with a blank plug or a -6 plug, perfect, looks super neat down there and will be easy to hook up!

Now, the front of the fuel rail hits my bonnet, which is an issue as the motor will move and then it'll probably try come through my bonnet, but it's a carbon bonnet and it can't dint, and would probably be ok, but not acceptable.

I chalked all this up to having full length injectors instead of stubby ones.

Now the only part of this that confused me, is the supplied rail spacers (which are rubbish) are to suit full length injectors.

So, it's like it was designed to run full length injectors, even though it couldn't possible fit under the bonnet of any 335 I know.
(also side note, these spacers rather than being aluminium rod with a hole in the middle to run a long bolt through are actually internal thread one end and external thread the other and come with short bolts. this would be ok, except I wound them in by hand and snapped one off in the plenum. So probs not use these)

So anyway, after this I gave up and went jetksiing for the day. I'll grab some shorty injectors tomorrow and carry on with the install, Mount everything up and then make up the piping to suit.

Although it has a few dramas. Let's just say the engine bay already looks a billion times better than the ugly middle exit plastic dump stock intake I was running before.

Alright guys for my install is occurring Friday 01/20/16 at my shop.

It will be the Revision 3 of the N54 Manifold in all my pics with the shorty LS7 style injectors.

I will also be installing:
- New HPFP
- New Coils
- Serpentine belt/pulleys
- BMS PI Controller
- Full E85 ~ E70
- BMS PI E85 Flash and targeting 23psi mid-range with a 19psi redline taper.

Will keep you guys posted since we may finally have a inexpensive option for PI! WOO!

more motivated than me.

I think I got the factory n54 expansion tank to fit. Just need to mount the other junk and make up some piping, but middle of summer here in sub tropical qld means there are like 400 better things to do with my time than work on my dump lol.

Oh.. my.. god..
That looks really good IMO.

Secondly,
I cannot wait to see it @Snelson3003 !
Looks like you're only like 2 hours from me. Let me know how that forward facing manifold works out.
My only concern with it is getting everything to fit. I'm using the AD-E intercooler and their chargepipe. Almost seems easier to just use the OEM style intake they also make.
